Happiest of Halloweens! I hope your costumes are laid out and your candy bins are full; ready for tonights festivities.
From werewolves to warlocks to witches and wizardry, Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. I can’t be in the same room as a (even mildly) scary movie, but theres more than spook and scare to the holiday. This year I wanted to add a friendly touch to the house and to accessories to match.
This year’s holiday decor was inspired by the classic Halloween movie Hocus Pocus and Reading Terminals overflowing display of mini pumpkins. I love this subtle themed quote and used chalkboard paint on a craft store wood slice to get the natural framed look.
I wrote the letters out with regular blackboard chalk, so mistakes could be rubbed off, and traced over with chalk pen, linked here. These pens are great if you haven’t used them before. They write like a paint pen on chalkboard paint, glass, mirrors etc. Once you’re done with the project, simply Windex it off glass surfaces or paint over on projects like mine here. It makes for a really clean, styled and custom piece and by changing up the saying, this can be used year round.
Hanging or settled into a book case, it’s the perfect touch!
